Lucy Mack Smith, mother of the Prophet Joseph Smith, became a pillar of courage and spiritual leadership in the early days of the Church.
She crossed frozen rivers, buried children, stood up to mobs, and testified of her son’s prophetic calling. She authored one of the earliest records of the Restoration — not to glorify herself, but to preserve truth for future generations.
She once said:
“We must cherish one another, watch over one another, and gain instruction, that
we may all sit down in heaven together.”
Lucy didn’t need a title. She led with faith, clarity, and fierce love. Her legacy is woven into
the foundation of the gospel today.
