Dear Mothers and Fathers,

What a sacred time it is to raise children of light. These years — the tender, teachable ones between childhood and youth — are not only shaping them, they are refining us. As we guide our children to discover their divine identity, we often find our own foundations renewed.

​

Each month, your family will explore one principle of divine development through the Family of Light Planner and the youth gatherings. This month’s theme, Divine Nature, begins with the truth that we are made of God’s light. From that seed thought, each child learns to act in faith, make amends, and write a vow or promise that reflects a real change of heart.

​

While the youth gather at co-op, you will study a mentor from our website — a prophet, pioneer, or mother or father in Israel whose life mirrors the month’s theme.

 

Then, at home, your family continues the work together: studying truth, repenting and forgiving, serving one another, and sharing testimonies of what you’ve learned.

Sister Kristen M. Oaks offered a message that captures the very spirit of this work:

 

“I want so much for the young parents in Zion to prepare and protect their precious children, the future of our Church. I hope people will realize (1) by relatively small, consistent holy acts we can achieve a sanctuary for our family, and (2) that children—properly taught—have a magnificent capacity to help make their homes holy.”

Through these small, consistent holy acts — shared prayer, family devotionals, repentance, and the monthly vows — your home can become a true sanctuary of light. Children, when invited, will rise beautifully to help create that holiness.

 

President Russell M. Nelson taught:

“The home is the center of faith and learning, where we teach, learn, and live the gospel of Jesus Christ every day.”

This is the heartbeat of Families in Light. It is the Atonement made practical — not just a doctrine to believe in, but a rhythm to live.

When a Guardian takes on his Quest, or a Keeper walks her Path, the family surrounds them in support. When a child chooses to change, the parents kneel beside them. When a vow is written, it is read aloud, sealed in love, and celebrated.

We invite you to make your home a temple of learning — a place where repentance is safe, forgiveness is quick, and joy is deliberate.

Here, every medallion earned, every Spark completed, every act of kindness becomes part of your family’s shared story of light.

May your home be filled with laughter, courage, and the quiet confidence that comes from walking the covenant path together — one month, one heart, one vow at a time.
