“Seeing Clearly” Water Filter Experiment
A visual way to show that truth brings clarity, not worth.
Supplies
A clear jar or cup
Water
A spoonful of clean play dirt or cocoa powder
Coffee filter, cloth, or simple homemade sand/gravel filter
Bowl or second jar
Instructions
Fill a clear jar with water.
Add a small spoonful of dirt or cocoa.
Stir until the water looks cloudy.
Let the children observe: “It’s hard to see through it.”
Place a coffee filter or cloth over a second container.
Slowly pour the cloudy water through the filter.
Watch as the water becomes clearer on the other side.
Theme Tie-In: Divine Integrity
Explain gently:
“Our hearts are always good. Sometimes our thoughts or choices feel cloudy, and it’s harder to see what’s true. But when we choose what is right, things become clearer again. Integrity helps our hearts feel peaceful, like clear water.”
