Build a Solar Lantern

STEM EXTENSION

Concept: We can store sunlight during the day and shine at night — just like we store spiritual light from God through faith.

Materials:

• Small solar garden light

• Recycled jar or plastic container

• Stickers, markers, or translucent paint

• Adult supervision for removing the stake

Instructions:

1. Remove the solar top from the stake.

2. Place it inside or on top of the jar lid to charge in sunlight.

3. Decorate the jar with stars or gospel symbols.

4. At night, watch it glow and talk about how light stored in the day returns when it’s dark.
