DISCOVERING WHAT LIGHT DOES

Concept: Light reveals, warms, and makes things grow — just like God’s light in our hearts.

Materials:

• Flashlight or sunny window

• Objects like a leaf, toy, mirror, or cup of water

• Paper and crayons (optional)

Instructions:

1. Begin in a softly lit room or near a sunny window.

2. Let your child shine a flashlight on objects or notice sunlight on them.

3. Ask: “What happens when light touches this?” (color, warmth, reflection, shadow).

4. Place an object in shadow, then move it back into the light.

5. Explain: “When light shines on something, we can see it clearly. God’s light helps us see truth and goodness in ourselves and others.”

6. Optional: Draw how the objects looked in light and shadow.
