DISCOVERING WHAT LIGHT DOES
Concept: Light reveals, warms, and makes things grow — just like God’s light in our hearts.
Materials:
-Flashlight or sunny window
-Objects like a leaf, toy, mirror, or cup of water
-Paper and crayons (optional)
Instructions:
Begin in a softly lit room or near a sunny window.
Let your child shine a flashlight on objects or notice sunlight on them.
Ask: “What happens when light touches this?” (color, warmth, reflection, shadow).
Place an object in shadow, then move it back into the light.
Explain: “When light shines on something, we can see it clearly. God’s light helps us see truth and goodness in ourselves and others.”
Optional: Draw how the objects looked in light and shadow.
Reflection Prompts:
What happens when we step into God’s light?
How can we help others see when life feels dark?
